Steam-powered linen-weaving mill opened in 1845 by Thomas Taylor, fourth generation of a family of Barnsley linen manufacturers. Mill, much enlarged in second half of 19th century, included extensive single storeyed sheds and warehouses, and incorporated earlier loomshop. Largely demolished.
