what year did the mill at Highburton close.

I went to work and train as a weaver one year after leaving school in 1959. As a weaver, I worked there around 3 years before moving to Sykes & Hebblethwaite at Crosland Moor Road.

Moxon's wove some of the finest cloth in the world, I can remember cloth being woven for J. F. Kennedy which had a gold thread running through it which wove his initials forming a stripe.

I would love to have the chance to weave a Dobcross loom again.
