To the left of number 317 Thornton Road there is a rusted metal gate. The dam was through there right at the side of Thornton Road. If you look further along the stone wall you will notice a square hole in it. That's where we used to sneak through to catch frogs and toads when we were kids.

Where about was the dam used by the mill, my great grandfather Aminadab Wilkinson drowned himself in this dam in 1930!
