Steam-powered woollen mill, built in and after 1824 as part of industrial development of west Leeds. Mill functioned first as integrated woollen mill, with both mechanically powered and hand-powered processes. Complex comprised a brick five-storeyed fourteen-bay fireproof mill with internal engine house and attached boiler house, two long narrow ranges, probably handloom-weaving shops, a dyehouse and a cloth dryhouse. The mill had an elaborate main front, with giant arches in the wider end bays. In later years the mill concentrated on cloth finishing, a Leeds speciality. Demolished.
