Founded in 1850s as room and power mill, burnt down in 1866 and 1893, and then rebuilt as fireproof cotton-spinning mill, to designs by Horsfall and Williams of Halifax, in 1894-5. Four-storeyed thirteen-bay steam-powered mill, incorporating earlier masonry, linked to two-storeyed four-bay warehouse. Only one storey built of second multi-storeyed mill, designed by W C Williams of Halifax in 1898.
