Yorkshire > North Yorkshire > Menwith with Darley > Fringill Mill
Water-powered flax-spinning mill of five bays and two storeys, attic and part basement, built between 1822 and 1834 by Benson Skaife, a linen manufacturer, who probably built the adjacent pair of cottages with their weaving cellars. In late 19th century mill diversified into spinning rope from hemp, and corn mill built against one corner. Both mills burnt and largely rebuilt in 20th century.
