Yorkshire > West Yorkshire > Ossett > Loornshop, Wesley Street
Loomshop, house and cottages, built 1853-5. Loomshop of two storeys and six bays with stable at one end. After c1870 the building was occupied at different times by a rag dealer and mungo manufacturers, the latter apparently using it for storage of rags awaiting processing at nearby mill. Detached two-storeyed house used by tenant of loomshop/warehouse. Terrace of four blind-back cottages occupied mainly by workers in textile industry. Complex is of interest for its original use, for its later use in Ossett's characteristic industry, and for its grouping of buildings of different types.
