Hello,... I am looking into my family history, and Coxley Mill has cropped up as having been bought by family members and sold by them in 1914. It is thought they made blankets there. Their name was Milner.

Does this ring any bells??

Thank you

I am not sure when this aerial photograph of Coxley was taken. However, after seeing planning applications, I decided to visit. The area from the roadway to the end of the Mill Dam is like a barren bomb site. Many of the trees shown in the photograph in that area no longer exist. The amount of deforestation, especially surrounding the area of the dam, must have had a devastating impact on wildlife.

The mills are no long there, although the engine house has been restored, but what has often been described as a beauty spot and a haven for nature, has been seriously blighted.
