Cotton-weaving mill, designed by J Whitehead of Nelson, built in 1867 by Skipton Land and Building Company and run by Skipton Mill Co Ltd on a room and power basis. Steam-powered single-storeyed shed with attached two-storeyed warehouse, later heightened. Weaving shed extension added in 1871, its own warehouse and dyehouse added in 1874.
