Yorkshire > West Yorkshire > Soothill > Syke Ing Mill
Built c1840 by partnership of blanket manufacturers. Operated initially as a steam-powered woollen mill providing public scribbling and fulling services and probably also as base for partnership's (later also the Syke Ing Mill Company's) own business. Surviving buildings included timber-floored main mill (four storeys, eighteen bays) of 1883 on site of earlier mill, attached engine house originally for beam engine (c1840), converted 1897 for installation of horizontal engine, and single-storeyed heated cloth dryhouse.
