Established before 1850 as woollen mill, rebuilt in mid 19th century as steam-powered worsted mill. Main building of five storeys and eleven bays, timber-floored, with projecting stair tower at one end and internal end engine house at other. Low attached building beyond engine house provided boiler house and warehouse, with earlier row of cottages beyond.
