This is Upper Mill 1847 and Low Mills all other maps. It was also known as Bateson's Mill. Originally a fulling and scribbling mill it evolved with dye works into a chemical works owned by Glover, Rhone Poulenc and so on. It is now demolished leaving contamination behind. Originally owned by James Bateson.
In 1841 it was associated with Christopher Topham and in 1971 with Daniel Hinchcliffe by 1891 it was owned by Glovers Bros and ceased mill manufacture in 1930 ish.
